University of Texas Urban Teachers is a three semester program that prepares UT students from many different majors across the university to teach secondary English Language Arts or Social Studies.

University of Texas Urban Teachers is looking for smart, passionate, committed individuals to join world-class faculty and brilliant classroom teachers in learning experiences that prioritize recognizing the diverse linguistic and cultural resources students bring into the classroom.

Through UTUT, teacher candidates will re-imagine what it means to teach literacy and democracy in today's world, making the future of education more equitable and moving society toward social justice.

The University of Texas Urban Teachers undergraduate certificate program is only for degree-seeking students enrolled at UT, and also counts as an academic minor in education.
