The Department of Anthropology of the University of Texas at Austin offers a broad program of research, teaching and community engagement that builds upon the historical strengths of archaeology, linguistic anthropology, biological anthropology and sociocultural anthropology in order to understand and address the challenges of a culturally diverse, increasingly globalized and rapidly-changing world.

The primatology minor is designed for students with an interest in primate behavior, ecology and morphology, including students with majors focused on organismal, integrative, or wildlife biology, animal behavior, anatomy, psychology, or human ecology.

To declare this minor, students should contact the undergraduate advisor in their major department.

  • In order to fulfill the requirements for this minor, students must complete 15 credit hours of coursework from a pre-approved list.
  • A minimum of 9 hours must be completed in residence. A minimum of 9 hours must be upper-division. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 2.00 in courses taken at the University and counted toward the minor requirements.
