Philosophy of the Mind and Language
Minor in the College of Liberal Arts
Philosophy of the Mind and Language is designed to give students a background in the core competencies of analytic philosophy: logic, mind and language.
The philosophy of mind and language minor is most suitable for those students who discover an interest in philosophy late in their academic career, but may still be drawn to pursuing graduate studies in philosophy.
How to Declare
ShowTo declare this minor, contact your assigned academic advisor in your school or college.
Required Courses
ShowEighteen hours, including:
• One course from: PHL 313 or 313Q
• One course from: PHL 303M or PHL 323M
• PHL 332
• Six additional hours from an approved list, available in the Department.
• Coursework applied toward the minor must include at least 6 hours upper-division and at least 9 hours in residence.
