The Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies offers a multi-disciplinary undergraduate program designed to enhance how students understand Mexican American and Latina/o cultural practices, historical development, socio-economic circumstances, and political conditions.

The rigorous scholarly work conducted in Mexican American and Latina/o Studies is dedicated to exploring the complexities of Latinidad—its beauties, its burdens, and its pain—with the goal of promoting understanding and empowering individuals and communities for a more just and compassionate future.
