As political and economic issues become increasingly international in scope, there is a growing need for Americans to be proficient in world languages.

The Arabic minor allows students to pursue a range of interests in the language and cultures of the Middle East and emphasizes the acquisition of the Arabic language.

To declare this minor, contact your assigned academic advisor in your school or college.

Required Courses

Eighteen semester credit hours in Arabic, at least six of which must be upper-division.

Usually the minor is fulfilled by taking the following courses: ARA 601C, ARA 611C, ARA 621K.
