New Single Internal Transfer Application

The University of Texas at Austin is excited to launch the single transfer application, a new process for students interested in changing majors! It is now available for all colleges, schools, and units, and will be facilitated by the Office of Admissions.

All current Longhorns will now experience an easier and more accessible process, with a single portal that allows them to apply and manage internal transfer applications—to a maximum of three available majors. Students will be required to meet the internal transfer requirements of their identified college or school and major selections.

The application for spring 2022 is open from Sep. 15 through Dec. 1. Please note that only the following colleges and schools will accept internal transfer application during the spring semester:

• Moody College of Communication
• College of Education
• College of Liberal Arts
• School of Nursing
• Steve Hicks School of Social Work

Students in the Cockrell School of Engineering seeking to transfer majors within the school, should speak to an advisor regarding internal-to-school major changes.

Fall internal transfers

The application for fall 2022 internal transfer admission will open in mid- to late January, and the deadline to apply for that semester is May 1. All 12 undergraduate colleges and schools accept internal transfers during the fall semester.
